went to womad a couple of nights back... it was great! was hot, sweaty, face was oily, too many orang asing around but... it was great. fantastic night for ogling at hot guys too. haha. mooch and i went earlier than the rest of the people we were supposed to meet so we caught more acts. chico was gd, t bone was very good, but radio mundial did it for me. awesome lah. check them out here. got some pics from the night but as usual, with camera phone, so they're dark, blurry and not very good. haha. the top stage had better acts than the main stage (with the exception of radio mundial who played the main stage. did i mention they were cute?) and we got lots of exercise in from going up and down stairs at fort canning.
radio mundial on stage and mooch & faisal posing on ground. can u spot them? yup, the shadowy forms. wahaha.
another shot of the main stage from afar. some woman named baca was singing. i think. can't remember which act it was.mooches got me cool earrings! thanks mooch! we also tried a marshmellow brownie with ice cream from the brownie factory who had a stall there. fantastic lah. sticky, gooey, comfortingly cool sweetness on a hot night. go try at taka basement.what else happened ah... oh ya we got pics taken by this photog dude so we're gonna be on nightlife.sg sometime soon i guess. no no not gonna be famous. checked it out and u have to sign up to retrieve yr pics. i don't mind lah but at the moment i'm too malas.faisal, manoj and the rest stayed on at the subaru groove tunnel but mooch and i called it a night at 1++ am. radio mundial was still on stage packing up when we walked by to get to the exit. place was already kinda deserted and there was no sign of the swaying crowd that was there only minutes ago. this would've been a great op to get up close and take pics with the hotties but noooooo. naz had her usual case of starstruckness and didn't wanna go say hi. sheesh. so annoying. this is my biggest regret of the night. oh, and not dancing. i ain't got the groove baby. best not to try and end up embarrassing myself in the process. haha.would've stayed longer, mebbe all night but alas work beckoned. had to help my aunt out at her stall on sat. flipping burgers over a hot grill on 2 hrs of sleep. fun and games man. i miss working there... it's damn shiok lah. tiring, but at least u're doing something useful, measurable and u get to meet people. hmph.ok then off to paint the nursery... will put up pics once it's done and not while it's still a work in progress. hopefully can finish the main wall today. bubbai.
ok late update, i know. haha. went kayaking last sun and it was AWESOME!! i wanna go again! this time round i want to use the sit on top kayak... which is available at bedok res. how convenient. wahaha. any takers?? please be a swimmer, cos i'm not. i feel i should publicly apologise to faisal for abandoning him in favour of mooches. i have several good reasons! 1. brought mooch along in cas i was incapable of kayaking due to that time of the month. 2. turns out that the partner of one of the participants didn't come so she needed a partner. 3. faisal partnered her instead. 4. which is a good thing cos if i had sprung a leak (u know wat kind) in the same kayak as him, that would've been mighty embarrassing for both parties.see... my actions were justified. haha. all of us had a good time anyway, so it's ok.weather during the day was perfect for kayaking according to daniel. cloudy, slight drizzle, with a bit of sunshine. didn't get much of a tan but it's ok, nothing a phuket trip can't take care of. haha.
us rafting up for a photo op before heading out. our instructors for the day were daniel and kang wei. i think kang wei rather liked mooch and i cos he kept splashing us and tried to capsize us. wahaha. joke's on him tho, cos he ended up capsizing on one of his attempts.
rafting up again in front of god knows where in the kallang basin. i say mooch and i make a great team, cos we were leading the pack the entire time. wahaha. had lots of fun singing tunes in terrible voices. there were also plenty of dragon boaters around. we were shouting aussie3 oi3 to the aust teams but they ignored us! how rude... either that or tak dengar ah. haha.coming from someone with a slight case of hydrophobia, all in all it was a great experience. damn shiok lah.
sooo... it's my birthday today. funny how i'm always tempted to sing that 50 cent song each time anyone mentions a birthday. *it's your birthday, we're gonna party like it's your birthday*... speaking of songs which i can't get out of my head, my latest obsession is justin's sexy back. since i don't have the mp3 i just play the vid on youtube over and over again. haha. nah don't really watch the vid, just listen to the song. the bridge has me hooked. * dirty babe you see these shackles baby i'm your slave, i'll let u whip me if i misbehave, it's just that no one makes me feel this way* how can u not fall in love with something like that? haha.
anyways, i think i promised a list of sorts. i would refer back to my birthday post from last year in my friendster blog but alas it's being a bitch. you know u're getting old when u can count your age in... i dunno, groups? for this year it's 2 dozen. next year it's quarter of a century. when u're 30 it's 3 decades. hmm...
ok looking back on what i wanted last year (yay can access old blog now), these are the things which still elude me:
1) a blender. yeah i still want one.
x) handphone bling (don't really care about this anymore. love my phone!)
x) adidas shoes (ok probably out of stock or discontinued or something by now so i shall move on)
2) an iPod *sigh* are we not meant to be?
3) nine west shoes. hmm, think shall forget abt this too, cos they never have my size. shall stick with novo. mmmmmmm novo...
4) 3 letter word. haha. que sera sera.
let's add on to the list shall we?
5) fitness ball (bro getting for me. apparently)
6) ruby ring (mum is on the hunt for this as i type. she actually offered necklace or bracelet but since when do i wear such things? so i asked for the item below, but changed my mind and asked for the ring. mum asked wat my ring size was, i'm like, er, large? wahaha.)
7) bicycle. to explore the great outdoors. and possibly start cycling to work. ha. ha. ok ok shall not be so ambitious, cycle to the mrt station then.
8) crocs ballet slippers. yes, crocs has gone slightly pretty. so i shall endorse them and not slam them like i usually do. have yet to see these, er, in person, so until then, i want these only half as much as the rest of the stuff here. why do i want these? cos i don't wanna ruin my heels rushing to work in the morn. er heels of the shoe variety, not foot.
9) pda. both kinds? ha. ha. ha. was thinking hp ipaq...10) contact lenses. like seriously. this should actually be on the necessary items list but i just can't be bothered to go get em. mebbe i will soon lah, current contacts are way way way past their use by date. poor eyes.
was actually gonna write down non- materialistic stuff like courage, patience, discipline, etc etc... but screw that! wahaha. mebbe next post.
so to everyone who wished me today (without being prompted, i'm impressed) so far, THANK YOU!!
touching touching. decided not to blatantly advertise on msn this year, so i just used a vague personal msg. haha. such is the behaviour of a twenty something who's showing signs of turning into an eccentric, rich, reclusive, 70 yr old virgin with 35 cats. yes yes i'm being negative and self- pitying. bite me. *it's my party and i'll cry if i want to* haha. hey at least i said i'll be rich and eccentric. those are good things right? right.
" no matter how cute you are considered back home, be prepared to feel like a troll here."- tips on turkey, some magazine i came acrossthis is why turkey is on my eye candy tour list of places to visit. others are spain, portugal, italy and egypt. haha. tall, dark and handsome... mmmmmmm. it's an ogle orgy, people.hmm 4 days to my birthday and i don't feel excited at all. maybe cos i'll be one year closer to quarter of a century this time round. noooooo. haven't even come up with a past, present (both kinds) and future list. i guess i will work on that soon enough.in the meantime, i will be painting my future niece's nursery. let's hope that it won't turn out to be a boy cos i don't think he will be pleased with the flowers and butterflies in his lilac room. hopefully i won't be too lazy to take pics of my handiwork. hopefully.will also be painting my own room in the near future, got the paint already and then it struck me that hey, wait a min, kinda looks like the shade in my room now! so i pried the lid off in a panic, took a sample and smeared it on my wall. thank god, wasn't colour blinded after all cos they're different. haha. would have gone with a deep rich burgundy colour but i thought it'd be too dark. so light reddish brown it is. ok ok so i'll be moving out next year but i don't care, realised that i hadn't painted the walls since we moved in. that's close to 8 years. it's about time! better late than never? haha.ok off to draw up butterflies and such.
wow feels like it's been a while since i updated. what's been happening... hmm for latest news please refer to rohana's blog. wahaha. was just looking at my schedule and man, it's quite active for once. was just looking at my room and man, i seriously need to do some major spring cleaning. like, seriously. i got books on the floor, shopping bags, magazines, docs, everything everywhere. my wardrobe is also a huge huge mess. i hate it when i can't find my clothes. doesn't help that most are black and folded so they all look alike. haha. some of them are missing in action, i'm positive. question is, are the pieces lost under all my other stuff or have they been kidnapped and held against their will, alone and helpless in someone else's cupboard? come back my pretties, come baaaaack!
hmm what else... i feel like i finally understand what my purpose at work is. basically it's the same as my other attachment but it's disguised as something much more important and leceh. the message is: bring in the sales!! or we're gonna nail yo ass! sighs. i hate being profit driven. but salaries need to be paid, targets need to be met and the lights need to be switched on. so right, one of the newest tasks i'm handling is... research. market competition analysis. i don't really mind this actually, cos it means i have to read the news and just extract all the relevant info. do some surfing, make a few phone calls, put it all together in a nice, easy to read table cos the head loves tables. i hate excel. also get to mess around with the organisation's website and see how i can make our dept more noticeable.
there are worse things in life that i could do i guess.
i really wanna be good at this. now that i actually know my target, it's just a matter of reaching it. we're halfway there already apparently. no worries then... i love planning things out but i really really hate nitty gritty details. guess who has to take care of the details? also feel that i've been messing up at work a lot. it's nothing big, but it's a lot of little things. every single one of them seem to be stacked up against me by the seniors, u know. maybe it's just me thinking that but they don't really mind. nah. they definitely do mind. the ngiao type, u know. god i hate working with women. my senior exec is pretty ok though, she's nice. for now anyway. i better pick up the slack before everything comes crashing down on me. haha.
speaking of which, my dad got retrenched last week. he seems pretty happy about it, kinda like early retirement. i dunno... i am worried but everyone else doesn't seem to be. why?? i really don't get it. dad did get a pretty huge lump sum from the co. but it ain't gonna last forever man. oh well. we'll see what happens... but as of last week, i'm the so called 'sole breadwinner' in the household. cheers.
