i wrote a post about my en bloc and how the dude who is against it lost the case in high court with cost, but i lost interest halfway thru it. haha. whatever it is, we're moving! not to the house we had in mind tho, cos the owner hasn't found a house she likes yet. sheesh. we told her she has until may or we're taking our biznez someplace else. totally looking forward to my black chandelier and loft bed. exciting.
moving on, check this out.
talk about parking idiot right?? licence plate has been erased to protect the silly. i'm ashamed to call this fella my neighbour. then again, my dad's skills aren't any better when he comes back from fishing at 2 in the morning. also when we're driving home and he needs to use the loo really badly. wahaha.
ok so this is berita basi, but check out my not-very-new-anymore haircut. haha. i want colour! i want highlights! i want a shorter do! le sigh. all in good time i suppose.
update on the job situation:
we were supposed to know the outcome of the dept review last wed, then my senior told me it's been postponed to mon, then after the hod meeting on fri, she said it's been postponed again to the next 2 weeks. haiz. suspense only... best part is, i doubt any other people besides the senior execs and above know what's going on lor. with my exception ah. i am but a lowly exec with a bad attitude and total disregard for authority. wahaha. everyone else seems to be going on like normal! the plot thickens... heard from my sources that our IT dept has been partially outsourced already. it's about bloody time lor. i reckon most got transferred to other depts. unless they're non-performers ah, in which case they'd probably get asked to leave. oh well, whatever. i'm not fussed.
5 weeks to EU07!! just got my credit card bill... eeks. they didn't waive my annual fee, but they waived my dad's. wtf right? like this must call and complain ready liao.
no, i'm not referring to me. wahaha.
anyways, had another roadshow today (and for the rest of the week) at the poly near my place. yeah, u know the one. my senior exec and i were there with 4 advisers, so once we got them set up, we went for brekkie.
over brekkie, we talked about the current department review. apparently he's of the same opinion as me- that it's gonna be over soon, just a question of when. he said he's been getting a very strong gut feeling that it's gonna happen. i was like, hmm me too. the signs are all there. our ads that we scheduled have all been cancelled. we have been instructed to hold all the tie ups with 3rd parties that we've been working on. we've got time to spare at work. hot news just in- one of the general managers just tendered. huge shake up under the new ceo indeed.
so what's next? funny enough, both of us are looking forward to getting let go, cos the compensation would be pretty ok. he's been working here for a lot longer than i have, so obviously his compensation would be a lot more attractive than mine. we're not interested in getting transferred to another dept, cos we reckon we need a kick up the arse to start looking for a job seriously. getting pretty darn excited by the prospect of the department dissolving... which leads me to believe that i'm probably missing the cloud for the silver lining. hmm interesting.
if and when this happens... i'm getting giddy already with all the opportunities that have suddenly unfolded in front of me. extend my europe trip? no prob. look for work overseas? no worries. work part time while building up my own business? sorted. stay in this industry at another company and make an obscene amount of moolah by the time i'm 30? consider it done. the last option would probably be the quick fix cos the rest would take a little bit more time... guess i should start updating my resume then.
seeeee i'm way too optimistic for my own good. shouldn't i be stressed by the prospect of losing my job? wouldn't u be?? i'm actually looking forward to it. wahlau. something wrong with me.
6 weeks to EU07!! can't wait!!
ok so here is the finalised itinerary for the upcoming europe trip... just a list of countries we're going to, transport and accomodation details all u don't need to know mah. well not at this point anyway. haha. total spent so far (excluding food and shopping): less than sgd 3000. wicked eh?
i got me my backpack (outgear 60l+15l, $83), handcarry (generic black sling, $19) and toiletries bag (waterproof, hang-able, lots of compartments. $6 off ebay. $6!!) already too! so exciting. this close to going on a spree at watson's and getting those cute little $1.95 stuff. but i shall refrain from doing so. too many toiletries at home sia. must... control... myself...
special mention: shon has kindly allowed us to stay at her place while we're in venice! even though she'll be back in sg at the time. doh! she stays half an hour away from venice and we're gonna be there for just one night before leaving for geneva on the overnight train the next evening. thanks shon, u're a sweetheart! we promise not to trash yr place. :) not too much anyway. wahaha.

on thurs, rohana and i went to watch blithe spirit at the national library drama centre. we were prepared to have the usual good time that we, er, usually have, when we go for such plays. the cast was dazzling with the likes of favourites such as tan kheng hua, lim kay siu, neo swee lin, pam oei, selena tan and gerald chew (hot old man!!!).
little did we know that we would be completely floored by their performances. it was bloody awesome lah!! go catch it if u can! the show we watched was sold out ok! it was seriously the best play i've watched there so far. i think. well, in recent memory anyway, cos we went to one a couple of months back that was pretty awful. i sent in bad feedback about that when they asked us to fill in the forms after the show. haha. comparing the 2 shows made me realise that yes, there IS a difference between amateur and pro. between a cast of stars and a cast with 2 stars. it's a team effort people!
before the play started, i had no idea what it was about. so i asked rohana. she pretty much gave me a summarised version of the whole play, which i further shortened into two words: so, cerita hantu lah? wahaha.
anyway, yeah it was great. solid man. gawd i love these things. next up, alfian saat's play, though i have no idea what it's called at this point in time. not to worry, i'm sure i'll get an email about it soon.
pedicure
haircut
full body javanese massage
threading
waxing
hot oil hair treatment with scalp, neck & shoulder massage
being totally overindulgent, but the last 4 items were more pain than pleasure ok! wahlau eh can die. all for the greater good i guess.
so why, then, do i still feel so lousy.
so, we've been busy booking our flights, trains and accomodation these past couple of weeks. only have accom for barcelona and madrid left... i think. haha. can't keep track ready lah, need to consolidate everything. will update on itinerary and activities once we get organised. watch this space!
oh ya, and if anyone knows where i can buy/ borrow a backpack that's at least 70-80 litres, tell me! beach road got cheap2 lah but as rohana knows, i don't do cheap. i think being halfway across the world with all your possessions on your back is not a good time to start doing that anyway. haha.
it's been 2 wks since i last updated. it's been 2 wks since the craziness of roadshows started. therein lies my reason. never thought i'd say this but thank god i'll be back in office tomoro. woodlands is just too damned ulu lah. the place i was at didn't even have hp reception lor. had wifi tho. wtf rite? haha.
during this trying period, i realised a few things. one of them being why i'm an exec and some people are clerks. pfft. never use brain sia. some people also cannot seem to handle extra workload lor. been taking it easy far too long. sheesh. idiots. i shall not elaborate. make me pissed off only man.
so what has happened... watched stomp the yard with rohana on wed. was drooling most of the way. ahaha. hawt bods. hawt moves. i wish i could dance half as well. i'll be twice as happy.
watched phantom of the opera with shereen on thurs. it was awesome, even tho i was nodding off. tired lah, was trying to fight it but alas, had choc (max brenner rocks my world) instead of coffee for dessert before it started so was feeling mighty satisfied and drowsy. i know, that's probably one of the most expensive naps i'll ever take. haha. i didn't lose the plot even tho it happened ok! after the show, fai met us and we went to newton for dinner. yummy... made it home in record time too. wahaha.
been booking stuff for europe. all the transport is settled for now, just need to book accomodation in a few cities... trying to keep within the budget of sgd $3000 for essentials but i have a feeling we're gonna mildly blow it. haha. no worries tho, this is what we've been wanting to do since forever anyway. exactly 2 months until the trip!! will put up latest itinerary once i get round to updating everything. been too damn busy lah. sigh.
made an impulse buy over the weekend. well ok, not exactly impulsive cos i've been eyeing the item since nov last year. i just didn't expect to get it this soon. it's a good thing tho, cos i'll have time to get used to it before the trip. the item in question? canon g7. most of the features of a dslr in a compact form. set me back sgd $855. yes, i know. this means that i can't get a new wallet or phone or diamond earstuds. dammit. i haven't even taken it out of the box yet! haha. all in good time. tomoro perhaps, after my pedicure... i don't want a pedi, i need it.
had dinner with rohana, di and farn at manhattan fish market. good seafood sia! was my treat cos i just got my bonus. hey, even if i don't enjoy my job, at least i enjoy the things that i can do with what they pay me. :) thanks guys, had a good time as usual.
in hakka news, i've been in denial but i now acknowledge the fact that he has fleas. got the treatment for him just now and applied it already. hope he gets better soon. it's supposed to kill pretty much 100% of fleas within 24 hrs. apparently i'm supposed to look out for dead things lying around, according to the pet shop woman. haha. noted, thanks. speaking of dead things, i came home to a cockroach, half dead and with legs missing (they were all over my room!!) under my desk. courtesy of hakka. sprayed it and covered it with the can. next thing i know, he brings another cockroach in. alive!!!! wahlau eh!! was cursing at him like crazy. sprayed at that one too but no idea where it is. i hope i find it before he does cos that insecticide stuff can be poisonous man. silly cat. i hope he doesn't find any more cockroaches. seriously.
2 mths to EU07. 3 mths to my cousin's wedding. at which i'm the maid of honour. time to lose weight! yeah yeah i work on a project basis ok, no good reason to do it, ape lagi, hang loose ah. wahaha. not literally. eeeew. ok ah wanna sleep ready liao. totally need it. sigh.
