woohoo i'm back! or rather, my 17" lcd pc is back. except that it didn't really go anywhere, it just sat there on my desk WITH NO INTERNET CONNECTION. which is why i had been using jordan (the ibook) for the past couple of months. i love jordan but he's just past his time, u know what i mean. ram hasn't been upgraded, running on old os x, 13" screen, etc etc. he's my never fail back up plan despite all his shortcomings. :)
anyways, this 'break' away from the world wide webhas taught me that i really am a net addict. haiz. when i got sick of straining my eyes on jordan and shut him down, i couldn't think of anything else to do except sleep or browse the ikea catalogue. argh! and to think i have a dozen books i haven't read and a thesis to complete. well the good news is that i can concentrate on my thesis now, since i can download articles and what not quickly, as well as access sites which only use IE. yay!
so, big news of the week. the fi.nan.cial me.ltdo.wn. can i just say, ha. ha. ha. for lack of a better reaction. well, padan muka is another good one actually. yasmine (or was it lian yi? i can't tell) wrote about it on their blog quite eloquently so i shall not. haha.
how does it affect me? i need to send out news about it every single day to a select group of people. zzzzzzzzz. mainly because a.ia is our competitor lah. was scouring forums and blogs too for reactions and stuff. it's funny how at the first sign of trouble the instant answer is to cut your losses fast/ don't take the risk and run away. far far away. relek ah, most of the products are long term, not short term. and the big big principle that everyone seems to forget in times like these is - buy low sell high. so really, if i had the moolah, i'd totally blow it all on a.ig shares. call it a financial lelong ok. still think it was a mistake for the f.ed to bail them out but what do i know. straight f's for econs. wahaha.
how does it affect you? if u have a.ia policies, hold on. they have seperate funds from a.ig for yr policies. if u have policies from other insurers, relek one corner. if u play with stocks n shares, buy buy buy! gawd i'm soo not looking forward to updating the weekend news on mon. zzzzzzzz. getting really sick of all the news.
